A BFRO report out of rural Texas is making the rounds again, and honestly, this one is enough to make anyone think twice about sleeping with the curtains open. Filed back in 2013 but covering events from October 2010 through January 2011, report number 41668 details a series of encounters that would unsettle even the most seasoned researcher. The Black Timber Archives channel recently broke it down, and the details are genuinely hair-raising.
The witness, a woman living alone in a rural home west of Levelland in Hockley County, had no idea what she was in for when she started wiping down her windows one Saturday afternoon. Looking out toward a storage shed behind the house, she caught sight of a massive, hairy head peeking around the corner. The head was roughly five feet off the ground, which already raises some interesting questions. As the host of the video points out, a lot of these "five-foot Bigfoot" sightings might actually involve adolescent Sasquatches, given that adults are typically estimated at nine to ten feet tall. Something to chew on.
She moved to another window to get a better look, and the head appeared again, this time with long black fingers gripping the edge of the building. At this point, most people would have been out the door, but she tried vacuuming to scare it off. Smart thinking, honestly. After that didn't work, she called a friend to come keep her company, though she didn't mention what she'd seen yet. Doubts, you know how that goes.
Then things took a turn that would make anyone's skin crawl. The creature started showing up at her bedroom window at night. Peering through the glass with a hand cupped around its eyes to block the glare, hunched over and squatting just to get a look inside. The silhouette alone filled half the wide window, and the witness estimated the creature was taller than the six-foot window itself, just scrunching down to watch her sleep. Eventually, she installed blinds between her lace curtains and the glass, but that didn't stop it. It kept trying to spy on her through the cracks. The way the host put it, this Bigfoot is going to be on trial after this one. Creepy doesn't even begin to cover it.
The physical evidence started piling up after that. One morning, after hearing the neighbor's dogs barking hysterically through the night, she found a massive handprint on the hood of her car, fingers closed with the thumb sticking out, pointing toward the driver's side window. There was also a cream-colored waxy spot in the middle of the hood, and a huge footprint on the back corner of the driver's side. Following the trail, she found another print across the road, which was wide enough to park two cars side by side. Her friend came out to take a look, and even he was stunned. He's a tall man who wears a size 13 or 14 shoe, and these prints were wider and a good half a foot longer than his. That's enormous.
The final encounter happened in January 2011, and it's the one that really cements this as a Class A report. The witness was trying to get to church on a cold, windy evening, running late as usual, when she realized the creature was somewhere near her exit path. Frustrated and alarmed, she made a break for it, screaming as she ran to her car, locked the door, and sped off. As she pulled out of the driveway, she glanced between the garage and the house and saw it. Standing as tall as the eaves of her one-story home, completely black, with hair whipping around its body in the wind. Some of that hair was about twelve inches long. It froze in what the host described as a "stiff soldier type stance," arms at its sides with fingertips easily past its knees, and yellow piercing eyes locked right on her. Its mouth was in an O-shape, like it had been running. And here's a detail that stood out: it was covering its midsection with one hand. Modest, honestly. Respectful, even.
She also mentioned a damp, wet dog smell in the air that evening, which lines up with a pattern the host has noticed in several recent reports. That musky, wet canine scent comes up a lot in Sasquatch encounters, and researchers have long considered it one of the more reliable indicators.
The geography adds another layer to this story. Hockley County sits on the Llano Estacado, that vast, flat plateau covering much of the Texas Panhandle and eastern New Mexico. The area around the Yellow House Draw, where the Brazos River begins its journey, has a long history. The name comes from the Comanche and other Indigenous peoples who called the caves in the cliff area "yellow houses" because of the yellowish hue of the land. Muleshoe Wildlife Refuge is about twenty miles northwest, and the nearest town is Pep, a tiny community most people have never heard of. Plenty of wildlife in the area, including coyotes, hogs, deer, and stray crows, all of which the witness had around her property.
What makes this report stand out is the sheer volume of encounters over several months, combined with physical evidence and a clear, close-range sighting. The witness didn't want to tell anyone because she knew how it would sound, and honestly, that's a reaction almost every experiencer shares. The friend who finally came over and saw the handprint and footprints was gracious enough not to laugh, but you can imagine how that conversation went. "Hey, so there's this thing watching me sleep and leaving giant handprints on my car." Try saying that with a straight face.
The full breakdown over on Black Timber Archives is worth the watch, especially if you're into the details. The host reads through the entire report and adds some really thoughtful commentary along the way, particularly about the five-foot head height and what that might mean for age classification. Definitely check it out if this kind of deep-dive into BFRO reports is your thing.
