Idaho Rescue Team Finds Bigfoot Guarding Missing Children

A story surfaced recently from a search and rescue veteran with the Clearwater County SAR team in northern Idaho, and it's one of those accounts that genuinely stops you in your tracks. Over on the Bigfoot Records YouTube channel, this 11-year SAR volunteer shared something he's carried with him for five years, a firsthand encounter with a Sasquatch that he believes saved three lost children in the Clearwater National Forest back in September 2019. The setting alone is enough to send shivers down your spine. The Sellway River drainage in the Clearwater National Forest is old growth, steep, and the kind of genuinely dark forest that doesn't let ambient skylight reach the forest floor. On the evening of September 6th, 2019, three children, ages 7, 9, and 11, had been separated from their family's campsite for six hours. The temperature had dropped to 38°F and was still falling. When the SAR team reached the search quadrant, they found the children on a rock ledge about 20 feet above the river, huddled together. But they weren't alone. The rescuer describes what he saw when his headlamp moved past the children to the far end of the ledge: an upright figure, even when seated, with a shoulder width that extended well past his headlamp's useful cone. The eyes caught his light in a way that was neither the flat mirror shine of a nocturnal animal nor the reflective absence of a human's. This was no bear, and he knows what bears look like at night. What follows is the kind of detail that makes this account so compelling. The 11-year-old, Petra, told him the creature had arrived about two hours into their time on the ledge. It came from the trees on the east side, moving deliberately, and sat down at the far end of the ledge. It didn't approach. It didn't vocalize. It simply stayed there, watching over them for three hours in the cold and dark. The 9-year-old, Emmett, added a chilling detail. At some point during those three hours, he heard something moving in the trees to the south of the ledge. He pulled his siblings closer to the rock face, and the creature at the far end of the ledge made a single low, resonant sound, "not loud, but you felt it." Whatever was in the trees didn't come onto the ledge. And then there's Jonas, the 7-year-old, who had been facing the direction the creature came from. He described it stopping at the ledge edge and looking at all three of them in sequence, at him, at Emmett, at Petra, before settling into position. "Like it was counting us," Jonas said. That's not the behavior of an animal responding to disturbance. That's something else entirely. When the rescuer began the extraction, lowering the children one by one to a secondary team member below, the creature remained at the far end of the ledge. When the last child, Petra, descended and was reunited with her father on the trail below, the creature moved to the edge of the ledge and looked down at the sounds of the reunion. Then it looked at the rescuer. They were about 12 feet apart. The rescuer described the eyes as dark, forward-facing, and doing something he had no better word for than "attending," the steady, focused attention of a being present to a situation and tracking its elements.
