The Lacawax Sanctuary itself surrounds one of Pennsylvania's most pristine glacial lakes and is preserved as a national natural landmark. Within just ten minutes of hitting the trail, they spot scratches and indentations on trees, possible tracks in the leaf litter, and a really strange bent and partially buried tree structure that even Rich admits is unusual for the area. Rich, who spends a lot of time in these woods, says he doesn't normally come across that, which says a lot. But the moment that really stands out is when intern John Duffy radios in after hearing a loud branch snap nearby. When the team investigates, they find a tree snapped clean off roughly 10 feet high. John describes the sound as if someone grabbed it with both hands and just broke it. Now, for anyone familiar with Sasquatch research, this is a classic indicator.
