Four Dogman encounters from completely different parts of the country, all sent in within the last few weeks, and none of the witnesses had ever even heard the term "Dogman" before stumbling onto this channel. That's what caught my attention when I came across this video.
The standout story comes from Oklahoma. A woman named Kayla and her friend Morgan were sitting in a school parking lot around 10:30 at night, waiting for Kayla's younger brother to get off the bus after an away football game. Morgan needed to use the bathroom, so they walked around the building looking for an unlocked door the players used to get back inside. That's when they first spotted what Kayla assumed was a coyote crossing the lot.
Morgan wasn't buying it. The animal was too big, its hair looked wrong, thin in spots like mange, and the back legs seemed too long with joints that didn't look right. When it turned toward them, Morgan wanted to leave. Kayla figured it was just some sick or injured animal that had healed up wrong, maybe something that got hit by a car.
Then things got interesting. They started walking back to the car and Morgan stopped dead in her tracks. Standing near the corner of the gym, on two legs, was something tall and dark with ears pointed up on top of its head and a face that came out like a dog's. The arms were hanging down at its sides.
Here's where the seven-year argument comes in. Kayla never saw it stand up. She turned around and it was already upright. Morgan says she watched it come around the corner on two legs. Kayla insists it could have been a person. Morgan insists it wasn't. Two separate things was easier for Kayla's mind to accept, and that's what she went with.
They got back to the car and locked the doors. A few minutes later, the animal was back on four legs, crossing the parking lot and passing about 30 feet from the car. Kayla got her best look then. She said the head was more like a big dog but the muzzle was heavier, the ears were taller and standing up, and the shoulders were higher than she'd realized from a distance.
The video covers three other encounters from Wisconsin and Northern California, but the Oklahoma story is the one that stuck with me. The detail about the back legs, the way the joints didn't look right, and the fact that it went from four legs to two and back again, that's the kind of thing that makes you pay attention.
For anyone researching these phenomena, Dogman reports often share striking similarities with Sasquatch sightings. The tall, upright posture, the reports of watching from a distance, the way witnesses describe the eyes or the way it moves. Some researchers think they could be the same phenomenon viewed through different cultural lenses or regional folklore. Others think they're entirely separate cryptids with overlapping characteristics. Either way, stories like this one deserve to be documented and preserved.
The video is worth the watch. The narrator does a solid job of letting the witnesses tell their stories without adding anything extra, and the Oklahoma encounter is one of those reports that stays with you long after it's over.
