Alaska Bigfoot Studies: Beans Baxter Shares Cryptid Encounter Stories

So there's this awesome video that recently popped up featuring highlights from a Bigfoot gathering that took place at a coffee shop called Crypted Brews and Curiosities in Anchorage, Alaska. The event brought together a fascinating mix of researchers, authors, and eyewitnesses, all swapping stories about cryptids, Sasquatch encounters, and things that go bump in the night. Picture this: a group of guys are building a cabin in a remote area, sleeping in a room where a piece of plywood covers the entrance. To secure it, they propped a massive Yeti cooler, fully loaded with steaks and hot dogs, against the plywood. We're talking about a cooler so heavy it took two people to carry it. In the middle of the night, around 2 or 3 AM (because of course it was), that cooler slid all the way across an 8-by-10 room, the plywood came crashing down, and the two sleeping guys started screaming about a bear. The cabin owner grabbed his shotgun and came running, but nobody saw a thing. They just heard something thumping up the hill. Whatever moved that cooler had serious strength, and one of the guys was so spooked he never returned. There are reportedly track casts of prints found in the area, with one displayed at the Bigfoot Art Gallery. The event wasn't just about Sasquatch though. Jesse Desmond, author of "Saucers of the North," was there sharing her own UFO experiences, including a wild childhood memory of blue and red orbs bouncing along a power line. There were also stories about dogman, giant thunderbirds, and something called the tutu man. For those unfamiliar, tutu is an Inupiaq word for caribou, and the tutu man is described as a cryptid with a human torso, a caribou head with antlers, and caribou feet that bend opposite of human knees, similar to the goat man legends. Apparently, this creature was harassing people on the outskirts of a village, and some of the men actually tried to hunt it down but came up empty-handed. Three different people who had lived in the South Dakota and North Dakota regions shared Sasquatch scream stories that closely matched the sounds described in Area A recordings, the same type of vocalizations featured on Sasquatch Chronicles and various TV shows. One of them, a former Army Ranger who was stationed at Richardson and Wainwright, had an especially intense encounter while guiding bear hunters in the Black Hills area. He spotted a massive hairy bipedal figure behind a bush, and when it let out a scream, the sound literally vibrated his truck and his chest. That kind of sonic phenomenon, where the sound seems to physically affect a person, has been reported in numerous Sasquatch encounters over the years. Another highlight was the connection made with Norm Sallie, who has an entire book about a hybrid program allegedly involving government involvement where a Sasquatch and a human were able to procreate. That story alone could fill up hours of discussion. The host also got to meet Heidi, who organized a Bigfoot conference in Fairbanks a few years back, with hopes of more events popping up in Anchorage and Palmer.
