# The Tennessee Bigfoot Man and the Night the Moon Changed Color
So I stumbled across this incredible interview the other day, and I just had to share it with everyone here. If you're not familiar with Darrell Denton, aka "The Tennessee Bigfoot Man," you're missing out on one of the most experienced researchers in the field. This guy has been investigating Sasquatch encounters in the Land Between the Lakes region for years, and his stories are absolutely wild.
The interview is hosted by Amelia Busse over on the X-Files Podcast channel, and it dives deep into some of Darrell's most unforgettable experiences. For those who don't know, Darrell isn't just some casual hobbyist. He's a former mayor, a renowned experiencer, and he co-hosts a radio show that broadcasts on 281 FM and 312 AM stations worldwide. They even stream live on Roku TV on Monday nights, and recently pulled in an audience of over 2.8 million listeners. That's not a small following, folks.
Now, the part that really got my attention was when Darrell started talking about a gathering organized by Barton Nunley, something they call the "Brotherhood of the Wolf." These get-togethers happen a few times a year at Hillman's Ferry campground, which Darrell considers the safest spot in the LBL. For anyone unfamiliar with the area, the Land Between the Lakes is a massive 170,000-acre stretch of national forestry land sandwiched between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley in Tennessee and Kentucky. It's prime Sasquatch territory, and researchers have been documenting activity there for decades.
On this particular night, there were around 17 or 18 people gathered, including some familiar names in the research community. The Henderson family was there, Gabby and Elijah Henderson from the Cryptid Studies Institute, whose late father Johnny Henderson did extensive filming in the LBL before passing away from COVID a few years ago. There was also War Criminal, Leticia Nunley, Anna K. Wood Jones, and others.
The story gets really interesting when Darrell describes what happened while they were sitting around the campfire. They noticed something peeking around a tree about 75 yards away, with visible eye shine. They could hear branches breaking, but it didn't seem aggressive. Darrell believes it was likely a juvenile Sasquatch just checking them out.
Then things got truly bizarre. The full moon, which had been bright and clear, suddenly turned a deep orange-red color. No wind, no strange weather, just the moon changing color right before their eyes. They all pulled out their phones trying to figure out if there was some kind of blood moon event they'd missed, but nothing was listed anywhere. The area dimmed significantly as this happened.
Meanwhile, two research teams had split off in different directions to investigate areas where they'd had previous experiences. One team called in completely freaked out, reporting hundreds of snakes crossing the road and deer running everywhere like they were fleeing from something. They asked if the others had seen the moon change too, confirming they had.
This is the kind of stuff that makes the LBL such a hotspot for researchers. The area has a long history of strange phenomena, and Darrell mentions another incident from March 2023 involving his friend Beth Collinsworth, a psychic from Wilson County, Tennessee. During that night, Dogmen reportedly surrounded them in the LBL. That's a whole other story worth hearing.
Darrell also touches on the dangerous nature of some areas in the LBL, places he wouldn't take most people. He describes a feeling of being watched over and guarded when he's around these creatures, though he acknowledges not all of them are friendly.
If you're into Sasquatch research, the LBL, or just love hearing firsthand accounts from seasoned investigators, this interview is a must-watch. Darrell's deep radio voice and calm storytelling style make it easy to get lost in his experiences. Check it out and let me know what you think.
