Mysterious Black Creature Spotted Swimming in Stub Lake, Superior National Forest

Hey Squatchable readers! Have you heard about the chilling encounter two fishermen had in Minnesota's wilderness? If not, let us fill you in on the details. In June of 2017, Doug and his friend Ron ventured to a remote area in the Superior National Forest known as Stub Lake. They portaged their gear into the lake and made their way to the opposite end, where they found a creek that connected to Fall Lake. Their goal was to set up camp and fish from the mouth of the creek onto Fall Lake. They had a great first day, catching northern and brook trout, and enjoyed a beautiful night under the stars. The next morning, they were casting from shore when they heard a loud tree knock in the forest behind them. At first, they thought it might have been a large branch falling, but when it happened again 10 minutes later, they knew something was out there. They felt as if they were being watched, but weren't sure what to make of it. Soon after, Ron cast his line towards the island and saw a large black thing step out of the forest and onto the shoreline. It was upright on two feet and appeared to be nine to ten feet tall. The fishermen were astounded by its size and weren't sure if it was a bear or something else. The creature started to walk into the water and dog paddled away from them, disappearing underwater and reappearing. It continued on for a long distance and they watched it for five minutes or so. When it got closer to the shore, they could see it was walking and it started to reveal itself in reverse order, from armpits to thighs. The creature suddenly stopped and turned around, giving the fishermen a good 20 seconds to observe its shape before it disappeared into the forest. The encounter left them feeling afraid and unsure of what to do next. They decided to wait on the shoreline for two hours, listening and observing, before making a decision about their next move.
