Hey Squatchable fans!
We've got a chilling tale for you today, straight from the YouTube channel The Bigfoot Report. In this video, titled "It Looked Inside My Tent! The Bigfoot Report TBR:04", we follow a camper who had an unforgettable encounter with a Bigfoot in the Appalachians.
This camper, who grew up hunting in the same woods, had never experienced anything out of the ordinary or felt fear in the woods. However, this hunting season was different. One night, while camping alone, he heard a whistle and two rocks being smacked together. He sat still, listening for the sharp crack again, but the forest fell silent.
The small game moving across the floor of the woods went still, even the insects stopped making noise. He started thinking back to all the stories he'd heard about these mountains. He remembered many say they hear whistles, wood knocks, and they have things thrown at them. He was an open-minded skeptic, but he hadn't experienced that or ever seen a Bigfoot.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps. Something was clearly walking around his tent, a bipedal creature that didn't sound like a deer. As he listened, he felt an overwhelming feeling of fear. He grabbed his 9 mm, but he knew it wouldn't make a dent in this.
The footsteps got closer and closer, and he could hear the leaves that had fallen crunching with every step. He studied himself as much as he could and was ready to just slowly leave his tent to see what it could be. It probably wasn't a good idea, but at the time, even though the steps were heavier than he'd ever heard any person make in the woods, he wanted to make sure that this wasn't a person because more times than not they are more dangerous than animals.
When he sat up, he noticed the glow from the dimly lit fire was casting shadows around. That's when he heard the footsteps come right up to the side of his tent. He froze, the only sound he could hear then was the pounding of his heart in his ears. He quietly scooted back until he was up against the back of his tent. He was ready to run if necessary, but he felt like he was part of the ground. He couldn't move.
The shadow of whatever it was was now casting on the side of his tent and it was huge. That's when he realized this was something that had legs like a human but way larger in comparison. If he wanted to, he could have reached out and grabbed it. That's how close it was. But he just sat there shaking, staring at this large shadow.
That's when he came to reality and knew that this had to be a Bigfoot. His biggest fear then was the damn open door. He scoffed quietly at his 9 mm. That thing wouldn't even make a dent in this. He really thought he was a goner as it took two more steps to the front of his tent. He thought to himself then "Yep this is how I'm going to go." He made peace with God and waited for it to rip the tent off of him and either kill him or carry him off.
But it didn't. Instead, it opened his cooler and he had thoughts of just running as fast as he could to his parents house while it was distracted. Fear will take you pretty far when you think you're running for your life. And with all the adrenaline he had, he could have probably made it there in no time. But he felt like he was part of the ground. He couldn't move.
The Bigfoot bent over and it looked inside his tent. The camper couldn't believe what he was seeing. This thing's head was probably two of his. The face was that of an ape but at the same time had qualities about it that appeared humanlike - thick brow ridge, flat nose, thin lips, but a very broad mouth. He had his gun in his hand but he couldn't shoot it. He just couldn't.
A low rumble came from its chest then and he instantly felt dizzy. He had lost his bearings and felt like he was going to be sick. Then he guess he just blacked out. He jerked when he heard his dad yelling his name. It was now daybreak and his dad was pissed. He quickly crawled out of his tent and was frantically looking around in fear that this huge beast was out there and it was going to get his dad. But it was gone. No tracks, no nothing.
His cooler was still open and he could see where everything in there had been moved. So he knew this wasn't just some awful dream. He tried to explain it to his dad but he just said they'd talk about it later. He declined hunting for the day, obviously.
To be honest, it took him a good long while before he went back. His dad had hurt his back the next year so they couldn't go then either. He was fine with that. He knows people have their opinions about these things and if you happen to read this, he's sure he'll catch some slack and that's okay. But he knows what he experienced, regardless of what anyone says. He's just glad to have been able to see another day.
