We lived on KY Avenue near Freetown. Our property joined the Hoosier National Forest. We were last house on road before the HNF. It was almost dark, dusk. Our huntin dogs took off howling and barking up the road. My brother n I ran after them. We were a couple blocks from the house. The dogs slid in their tracks on the gravel, turned tail and ran! My brother and I saw something huge and hairy, standing in the middle of the road! It was at least 9 ft tall. It didn't move. You couldn't hear it breathing. It slowly opened its eyes. They were 3 or 4 inches wide! Glowing yellow, shaped like cresent moons. We ran like hell towards home. It didn't chase us or make a sound. Whatever it was, could have easily hurt us or caught us. Several years later a friend of mine saw something similar to that, down in Maumee. It has been heard calling and something answers it a half mile away. It haunts my dreams to this day..
