We had just purchased a small cabin- (more like a gutted chicken coup than anything else) on long island lake about 30 min north of westlock alberta. My father, 9 year old brother and myself (12 at the time) were staying out there one night towards the end of august to begin clearing brush on the lot and as we had settled in for the night and began to fall asleep we heard a bone chilling scream like nothing else- that sounded seemingly right outside our thin screen door. My father and myself have been experienced woodsman and hunters for many years have never heard anything like this in our lives and to this day it still puzzels us.
