January 2007

We were travelling back from Tofino to Victoria when our truck broke down. This was right by lake Kennedy right by a large rock face and a bit of a turn-around area. There is a large tree with a surfboard attached to it high up. This is the second time that one of our vehicles has failed at this exact spot but that is a whole other story. We were there for hours trying to get hold of a tow truck. About an hour after dark, my mother-in-law and I were standing in the turn-around alerting cars with our flashlights trying to get them to slow down around the corner. We both saw the silouette or a strange creature about 30-40 feet away crossing the road. It appeared to be tall and very skinny walking upright on its very long legs.
