Two Police Officers Share Close Bigfoot Encounter Stories

There's something about police officer encounters that always hits different. When someone trained to handle dangerous criminals and high-stress situations comes face to face with something they can't explain, you know it's going to be a wild story. A recent video popped up featuring three separate accounts from law enforcement officers who had run-ins with what can only be described as Sasquatch, and let me tell you, these are some of the most compelling firsthand testimonies out there.
The first account comes from a former sheriff's deputy in Eastern Kentucky who served for 19 years. Back in November 2013, he got called out around 11:30 p.m. for a trespasser report at an elderly couple's barn. The husband had seen someone duck behind his tractor, and when the deputy arrived in the rain, things got weird fast. The cattle were all huddled together at the far end of the pasture, refusing to come near the barn. Animals always know something's up before we do, right?
When he checked the area, he found a bare footprint in the mud that was longer and wider than his own boot, with visible toes. Then he heard movement inside the shed. What he saw when he illuminated the interior was a hand covered in hair, larger than his own, resting against a cattle feed bag. When the figure stood up, it rose above the tractor cab, standing roughly seven and a half feet tall, covered in dark brown hair with a leathery face, wide-set dark eyes, and a wide mouth with thin lips.
Here's where it gets really interesting. The deputy realized he was blocking the creature's exit. Instead of firing his weapon, he backed away and let it leave. It passed within eight feet of him, and he described the smell as wet hair, manure, and something sour he couldn't define. The property owner witnessed part of the encounter from an upstairs window and agreed it wasn't a person. The deputy's official report described it as a "large unidentified animal," and he deliberately avoided using the word Bigfoot to protect his career. Smart move, honestly. History has shown that officers who report Sasquatch encounters often face ridicule from their departments, which is why so many go unnamed.
The second account might be one of the most touching Sasquatch stories I've come across. In September 2017, a sheriff's deputy in northern Wisconsin responded to a call about a missing six-year-old boy at a family gathering. The property bordered State Forest, and with darkness closing in, time was critical. The deputy followed small shoe prints from a swing set, through a garden, past an open gate, and onto an ATV trail that led downhill toward a creek.
He found the boy sitting beneath a cedar tree, one shoe missing, jeans soaked below the knees. But there was something else there with him. About 20 feet behind the child, near the water, stood a figure that rose up onto two legs. At least seven feet tall, with arms hanging well below the hips, a heavy brow, and a flat nose. The deputy drew his pistol, but what happened next is what gives me chills every time.
The boy looked back at the creature, then looked at the deputy and said, "Please don't shoot the big man." He wasn't scared of it. The child explained that he had tried to cross the creek because he thought the house was on the other side, but the creature had grabbed his coat and pulled him back. The creek was over four feet deep with a fast current from recent rain. That child could have drowned.
As the deputy carried the boy back uphill, the creature followed them through the wet brush, staying 25 to 30 yards away, keeping pace. At one point, it came within 15 yards and extended an arm toward the boy. The deputy noticed gray hair around the shoulders and lower face and realized this was a female Sasquatch. She appeared to be protecting the child from the dangerous water. When family members and another deputy arrived, she withdrew and backed into the trees.
The child repeatedly told everyone the same story: the creature had stopped him from entering the creek, stayed near him, and was "very nice" to him. The deputy's report noted an unidentified creature in the area, and he left the child's statement about "the big man" in the supplemental notes.
These kinds of encounters are exactly why so many researchers take Sasquatch seriously. When trained law enforcement officers, people who deal with dangerous situations for a living, come away from an encounter shaken but respectful of what they saw, it carries weight. The Wisconsin account especially adds to a growing body of reports suggesting these beings may have protective instincts, particularly toward children. There have been similar accounts over the years where Sasquatch appears to intervene in situations involving kids in danger.
The video goes into much more detail on all three accounts, including the officers' thought processes in those critical moments and why they chose the responses they did. Definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in credible witness testimony from people whose jobs require them to be observant and accurate under pressure.
